UPDATE SEPTEMBER 1 – NEW RULES FOR VISITORS FROM THE USA
Effective immediately, to enter Italy from a “D” category country, which now includes the USA, you must fill out the passenger locator form, and now you must ALSO provide a negative test (antigen or PCR) taken no more than 72 hours prior to arriving in Italy.
Finally, in order to avoid quarantine, you must show proof of full vaccination. If you are not vaccinated, you will be required to spend 5 days in quarantine.
These are the new rules set out by the Italian government after the EU removed the USA from the list of “safe” countries.
Find out everything you need to know about how to visit Italy in the fall of 2021, from what tests you need/don’t need, what documentation you need, and what to do when you want to visit sites, monuments, museums, and restaurants, and to travel around the country!
