Golden Residence Permit of Portugal – European Passport – Tennis

Ever since the first official Portugal Open in 2013 my teenage daughter and her friends have become completely obsessed with tennis, both watching and playing.

There has been a major tennis tournament held in Estoril since the 1990s; but it was recently rebranded as the Open to reflect its profile as one of the top international events on the world circuit. The games are played on clay courts usually towards the end of April and the beginning of May. You can book tickets and all kinds of travel packages by visiting the official website.

And if you like playing as well as watching there are any number of websites offering packages including coaching, transport and accommodation in a wide range of resorts. You can also rent villas with their own tennis courts and, of course, buy one as part of your residency programme.

So whether you are just starting out and getting a feel for the game, or if you are already addicted, there are plenty of opportunities to indulge. There are loads of clubs to join all over the country and with the wonderful climate we have here you could play every single day of the year. Now that’s what I call ACE!
