Hi Girl Scouts, it’s Sarah, and today we are going to be making a passport as part two of discovering the connection between people and flight. You will need paper, markers, and if you have construction paper, you can use that as your cover, but you don’t need to. And scissors if you want to make it a little smaller.
Here is an example of what a passport may include. It has your name, where you’re from, and it helps you identify who you are when you’re in another country.
I started by decorating the cover of mine with travel themes. And then I picked where I wanted to go and put that on the front page. So pick where you want to go and draw a picture. And then I put what I need to pack in my suitcase. I chose a swimsuit, sunscreen, a camera to capture all my adventures, and a backpack. And then I made a list of what do I need at the airport. So I like to read on the plane, have snacks, and maybe play a game. And now the fun part of planning: what do you want to do on this trip? What things do you want to see? And I think the best part of travelling is trying new things, so what new things do you want to try wherever you’re traveling? IN Greece I want to learn more about the Olympics because that’s where they started. And I want to try new food and learn about the culture over there in Greece. What do you want to learn?
I hope you had fun making a passport and discovering how passports allow people to fly and travel all around the world and experience new places. Bye!
