Son Marroig was the favorite residency of Archduke Luis Salvador, a cousin of Empress Sissi of Austria. It enjoys one of the most spectacular panoramas of the Western coast of Majorca with direct views to the famous “Sa Foradada”.
Sa Foradada is a rocky point where a 10 meter diameter hole in the rock can be seen from far away.

At present time Son Marroig is a home of the Archduke Luis Salvador Museum that exhibits the Archduke’s items, souvenirs and collections of ceramics. Also it is a place of the International Chamber Music Festival of Deià since 1978.
