What’s the difference between E-2 Investor Visa and EB-5 Green Card.

The minimum requirement for E-2 Investment is 50,000 USD. The business must be REAL, ACTIVE and NOT MARGINAL.

The minimum investment for EB-5 Green Card is 1,000,000 USD. The business requirement is that it must be a commercial enterprise.

Real Estate Investments doesn’t count towards EB-5 Green Card unless it is a commercial enterprise. You may be eligible to apply for E-2 Investor Visa with real estate investment only if it’s a seasonal rentals or you are actively involved in the business. Passive investments doesn’t count.

E-2 Investor Visa are non-immigrant visas whereas EB-5 Green Card is an immigrant visa category.

Legal fees for Investor visa starts anywhere around 5,000 USD-7,000 USD.
