In a major boost to Mehul Choksi, the Antiguan Passport authorities have released a media statement claiming Ministry of External Affairs and market regulators, SEBI provided no negative report to them when Choksi’s citizenship file came up last year.
Sources in the Ministry of External Affairs has told India Today that the clearance for Mehul Choksi was given before charges were framed against him in the PNB scam. SEBI on the other hand claim that they didn’t receive any request from the Antiguan govt on Choksi.
