The Comptroller General Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Government of Nigeria is making out plans to ensure that passport booklets are produced in Nigeria to address the issues arising from non-availability of booklets at passport offices across the country.
NIS CG Muhammad Babanded mentioned this to newsmen in Abuja, noting that the service as an operational arm of government has complied by making proposal to ease transition working with relevant agencies. Babadede also lamented that the service has faced a lot of challenges owing to booklets scarcity which has affected service delivery, some occasioned by the COVID19 pandemic, just as he ruled out insinuations of debt owed by Nigeria, allegedly emanating from printing of passport booklets in another country. He described the allegations as baseless.
