A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A YOUNG PEACEKEEPER
“I am a flight unit helicopter mechanic. At this moment, I am part of the UN flight in Cyprus.
My name is Florencia Chocobar. I am 28 years old. I’m from Argentina and I work in the air force.
Morning! Every day, I wake up at 6:00 and go to the cafeteria for my breakfast with my friend.
In the cafeteria, I can eat whatever I want, but my breakfast is very simple – coffee, toast, cheese and some fruit.
Every day, we prepare the helicopter by doing inspections together with the technician.
They are my colleagues who also support the United Nations flight.
In my free time, I like to go to the gym. If the day is nice, ride a bike.
My favourite moment of my work is when I fly.
I am proud to serve as a peacekeeper and that many women do it. We make a difference for more inclusion and active participation in society. I’m happy to represent Argentina in this mission.”
