With more than 700,000 empty properties in Portugal, the government have made it especially easy to invest in real estate – residential or commercial – to occupy yourself or just for investment.

And this means that you can buy a place overlooking the beach in the Algarve, perhaps a pied-à-terre next to the Opera House in Lisbon or you could just purchase commercial for investment – the choice is completely up to you – just so long as the value is 500,000 Euros or more.

And remember, you can sell your property allowing you to re-locate and re-invest anywhere else in the EU if you decide to move on once you have secured your European Passport upon naturalization as a Portuguese citizen.
