The EB-5 visa is one of the less utilized visas simply because of the lack of awareness amongst the business migrants who would want to immigrate and start a business overseas. This program could be considered as the fastest way to obtain a US Green Card which is the Permanent Residence visa. It permits the immigrant and his family (children below the age of 21 years) to live and work in the United States.
When it comes to the EB-5 program, there are no limitations catering to age, language or even having an entrepreneurial background. The only condition here is the investment of either US$ 1 million in the US economy or US$ 500,000 in a government approved project.
Initially, the immigrant is given a Conditional Green Card for a period of 2 years where in he has to fulfil certain mandatory requirements such as creating jobs in the local area and so on. However, just like any other program, there are pros and cons involved here as well.
