Becoming a resident in Spain you would expect to be a simple process. But if you work from home but employed by a UK company as a contractor its something the system doesn’t seem to understand. Yet it costs Spain money and there is a difference between fiscal (tax) and physical resident. As being in Spain for over 180 days will make you liable for tax, however you may not have a home here.

In the same way you could be living here and earning your money from elsewhere. Which is where Spain has half woken up to the fact its losing money from none payment of tax. At the same time it is not straightforward to process.
