Connecting Vanuatu to the World: Eslyn and Josephine’s Story

The tourism sector is a major employer in Vanuatu – particularly for women. Eslyn and Josephine work at the Haus Bilong Handicraft in Port Vila, along with over 80 other women entrepreneurs.

Air transport is also a vital connection for Vanuatu to the outside world for employment, education and medical services.

The World Bank has supported the government of Vanuatu with a US$73.9 million project that has provided much needed repair and rehabilitation for Vanuatu’s three main airports.
