Spain is taking steps to fast-track Spanish citizenship for Jews of Sephardic descent whose families were driven out after the Spanish Inquisition, some 500 years ago. Spain’s cabinet has OK’ed a bill that will give Spanish nationality by naturalisation to Sephardic Jews who want to apply for citizenship and the bill also allows individuals to retain their previous citizenships.
