Every year we are required to partake in the Korean health check for our E2 VISAs. This is exactly the same test performed in orientation.
This mandatory medical exam for EPIK consists of a lot of tests to check our physical health and ensure we are not carrying any dangerous diseases. The test can be performed anywhere between your entry into Korea and picking up your VISA, which normally is January/February and August/September.
The test involves height, weight, sight, hearing, blood pressure, xray, blood test and urine samples as well as a doctor’s consultation. All of which result in just checking your overall well-being.
As a side note I have never met nor heard of ANYONE who has been deported as a result of their tests, so I wouldn’t be too worried about passing the test, it’s truly to just check you are in good health.
I was really curious about this test before coming to Korea, and there was just no videos showing the procedure so I hope this adventure in the Korean hospital will help show you how easy and simple the test actually is.
Happy watching!
