
On April 21st, 2022, the US Government announced a new program for
Ukrainian citizens and their immediate family members – Uniting for Ukraine.
The Uniting for Ukraine Program allows Ukrainian citizens and their immediate family members
who are currently outside the US or are not qualified for a TPS status to temporarily come
to the US and stay in the US in a two-year parole.
You will need a US-based person who would want to and be financially able
to provide financial support while you are in the US as a Ukrainian citizen
or an immediate family member of a Ukrainian citizen.
Financial supporter/ financial sponsor in the US has to file
form I134 – Declaration of Financial Support with the
US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Who can be a supporter/financial sponsor: anyone who is a US citizen, a green card holder,
a conditional green card holder, lawful temporary resident, nonimmigrant visa holders who are currently
in the US, asylees, refugees and parolees,TPS holders and beneficiaries of deferred action, including DACA
Who can be the beneficiaries: Ukrainian citizens, immediate family members
of Ukrainian citizens who are not themselves Ukrainian citizens
– spouses, common-law partners, unmarried children under the age of 21

Once you are paroled into the US as a Ukrainian citizen, you will be able to apply
for a work permit, and you will be able to work during your 2-year stay.
