GERMAN REGATTA COMES TO SAINT LUCIA

The St. Lucia Tourism Authority welcomed thirteen yachts to St. Lucia for the Annual Karibik Trophy
Regatta on November 24 th , 2019. KH&P, a leading yacht broker in Germany, is the organizer of this
Annual Regatta which is celebrating its 29 th year.
The Caribbean Trophy, a 2-week fun Regatta has long become a household name among sailors and
takes place in various regions in the Caribbean. In the past, the Regatta often sailed through the
British Virgin Islands or through the Leeward Islands, however, in 2016, the Regatta was first brought
to St. Lucia.
Captain Holtmann says some of the German Crewmembers have never been to St. Lucia. For some,
this is their second time and most of them have already fallen in love with the Island and the
Hospitality they have experienced so far.
As the Regatta crews made their way to the Pigeon Island National Park where a small Welcome
Reception was prepared for them, the St. Lucia Tourism Authority Representative in Germany,
Switzerland and Austria.
This year, according to Petra Schildbach, is special as they made landfall on the exact date of the 30 th
anniversary of the ARC on the Island.
