Although there are a few lesser-known methods of naturalization to receive US citizenship such as military service, we will be focusing on the most common ways to obtain a green card in the immigration process. we discussed the three most common ways to obtain a green card through the immigration process. The first method of obtaining a green card is through family sponsorship, this is when a family member sponsors and immigrant during the green card process. The family relations that are allowed during the change of status process our spouse, children, parents and siblings. The main distinction in these categories are for children which have different preferential categories for children under or over 21 and children who are married or unmarried. The second category that we touch on is receiving a green card through employment.
